May 2nd is National Day of Prayer and we encourage each one of you to spend some time in prayer for our nation.

2019 National Prayer for America

ALMIGHTY GOD, our Heavenly Father, we look to You alone for the future of America. By Your providence, You have placed each of us here at this time in history to be in this nation. Thank You for this blessing. Thank You for America.

BUT ABOVE ALL, we thank You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God. It is in His name, we come to You as we intercede in prayer for America.

FORGIVE US, OH LORD, for the sins we have committed against You in America. We are failing You by dishonoring one another through our harsh and bitter words about each other. We are failing You through broken relationships. We are failing You by devaluing human life from conception until death. We are failing You with the division in our nation.

LORD, WE TURN FROM these sinful actions and refuse to live this way. Please forgive us now and help us to choose love over hate, unity over division, and life over death.

WE CHOOSE to live by Jesus' words: Love One Another. Therefore, upon the authority of Your Word in John 13:34, "Love one another. Just as I have loved you," we pray for a future America that will choose to love willfully, sacrificially, and unconditionally just like Jesus loves us.

WE PRAY FOR THE CHURCH in America to love one another. Empower each church to be full of love for one another. Ignite a revival of love for one another. Since we are to be known by our love, help us to love one another.

WE PRAY FOR EVERY FAMILY, EVERY WORKPLACE, EVERY COMMUNITY, AND EVERY CITY IN AMERICA to choose love. We believe there is power in love. We believe love is the better way. We believe love is God's Way. Oh Lord, change families, workplaces, communities, and cities through the power of love. Raise up a Love One Another movement across America.

WE PRAY FOR ALL ETHNICITIES AND PEOPLE IN AMERICA to love one another. Lord, tear down every wall of division and change any attitude that divides us today. Bind up our nation's wounds and may the transforming love of God lead us to the day when justice will roll down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream.

WE PRAY FOR YOUR LOVE to surround America. We pray for Your love to surround and protect us in every public setting and private place. Protect us from harm.

WE BELIEVE ALL OF THESE THINGS, OH LORD, represent our deep need for the next great move of God across America. We ask You alone for the next Great Spiritual Awakening in America. Please, oh God, wake up Your church and revive Your people today. We ask You to begin a mighty spiritual awakening in every town, every city, and every county in America.

WE NEED AND DESIRE THIS SO MUCH, THAT BEGINNING RIGHT NOW, we are choosing love and forgiveness, love and restitution, love and healing, love and unity, and a future that will be transformed by the power of unconditional love. When we belong to You, we belong to love. We choose to Love One Another!

IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST, the only Savior and Hope in this world we pray. Amen.

The 4th of May is sure to be abloom with the beauty of the season when the ladies of Beacon Bible Church gather for their spring brunch. Beginning at 10:00 AM there will be a wonderful opportunity for fellowship, friendship, fun, and listening to the sweet sound of God's Word. The Fellowship Hall will be abuzz with the excitement which only a group of ladies can call forth! Come join us as we relax, enjoy some delicious treats, and share in fellowship with other Christian women. Please plan on sharing in the beauty of the day with us and bring a friend.

Women's Bible study is a special time of rich fellowship as like-minded women gather together to delve into the Word of God and spend time in prayer. Studying the Scriptures provide encouragement and accountability necessary to deepen our faith. We get to know each other and grow together as we learn to live and love like Jesus. Join us at 6:00 PM on May 9th and 23rd as we embrace another opportunity to count God's many blessings and develop a closer personal relationship with God and each other.

If you enjoy the great outdoors and want to improve your marksmanship or even just to get a little exercise, join the Beacon Bible Church gang on Saturday, May the 11th. Participants will be meeting in the Denny's parking lot on I -17 and Deer Valley Road before 7:00 AM. The group will be leaving Denny's at 7:00 AM and driving out to Table Mesa Road where they will join those who have been busy setting up targets and securing a safe place for the morning activities. Safety and fun intermix in this exciting outing that is popular with young and old alike. Join us and enjoy the beauty of the desert while learning something about gun safety and target shooting.

MOTHER'S DAY (May 12th)
"Honor your father and your mother, as the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live long and that it may go well with you in the land the Lord your God is giving you." Deuteronomy 15:16

"I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth." 3 John 1:4

"She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: 'Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.'" Proverbs 31:25-31

"Hear, my son, your father's instruction, and forsake not your mother's teaching, for they are a graceful garland for your head and pendants for your neck." Proverbs 1:8-9

Tired of surfing the channels while you are looking for something new and meaningful to watch on a Friday night? If so then join us on May 17th at 6:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall for a relaxing evening of fun. Cartoons will start the night off, as requested by prior participants. To enjoy the movie in comfort, bring your favorite camping chair or bean-bag chair to settle into. The usual table and chairs will be available for anyone who wishes to use them but they are not the most comfortable option! Since there is no concession stand available, we would highly recommend that you bring "Movie Snacks" that can be enjoyed and shared.

On the last Saturday of each month at 9:30 AM, the Beacon Bible Church hosts a gathering for the men in our congregation and community. At that time, Fellowship Hall is filled with the smell of a hearty breakfast which is made even more enjoyable by the conversations shared. During their time together, one of the men presents a short devotional study which is followed by discussion. What better way for men to share the struggles and joys in their daily lives while encouraging their Christian brothers with prayers and support. The hardships in life are many but these moments offer just what is needed to help ease pain and suffering. Mark your calendar for May 25th and bring a friend!
