August is the month in which children usually return to school...elementary, high school, and college. As schools plan to reopen, many parents are asking themselves if it is better to send their children back to school and risk them getting the coronavirus or keeping them at home to do distance learning. In some school districts, they are planning to allow families to decide whether to send their children to school or continue with distance learning from home. For children that have been out of school since March, returning to school during the COVID-19 pandemic may not feel like normal-- at least for a while.

Although most of us at Beacon Bible Church do not have children that will attend school, we do have grandchildren and great-grandchildren that will be returning to school. As parents/grandparents, we can pray for and with the children each morning and remind them that you love them but God loves them even more.

For those unable to attend in person, the Sunday Morning Worship Service will live stream at 11:00 AM on the Beacon Bible Church Face Book page.

The church picnic will be held in the Fellowship Hall after the morning worship service. This is a wonderful opportunity to come together as a church family, to gather around a meal in fellowship, and enrich our relationships. Each person is to bring their own lunch and meals are not to be shared. Come dine with us on August 9th and get to know more about the people that we see and greet each Sunday morning before and after church.

When you have a group of women gathered together, excited about studying the scriptures, deeply devoted to developing a close personal relationship with God, and spending time in fervent prayer, you are talking about the women at Beacon Bible Church who attend the Bible Study Class on the second and fourth Thursday of each month at 2:00 PM in room 2. Desiring an abundant life, they study the Bible to understand His plan for each of them, and they strive to live their lives so that God might be glorified. As they encourage, support, and spend time in prayer, they praise Him for His many blessings.

The class is a special time of rich fellowship as like-minded women gather together to deepen their faith. You will find the women challenged and changed for the better as they delve into the Word of God. Come join us on August 13th and 27th.

Tired of surfing the channels while you are looking for something new and meaningful to watch on a Friday night? If so then join us on August 21th at 6:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall for a relaxing evening of fun. This week's movie is Brother White. Brother White is an associate pastor at a huge church in California who finds himself the pastor of a poor church in the worst neighborhood in Atlanta.

To enjoy the movie in comfort, bring your favorite camping chair or bean-bag chair to settle into. The usual table and chairs will be available for anyone who wishes to use them but they are not the most comfortable option! Since there is no concession stand available, we would highly recommend that you bring "Movie Snacks."

If you were to drive past Beacon Bible Church around 9:30 AM on the last Saturday of each month, you would notice that there are a number of vehicles in the parking lot and if you would enter the Fellowship Hall, the smell of breakfast would permeate the room.

The men in our congregation and friends gather together to enjoy a hearty breakfast in celebration and gratitude for the many blessings of the month. There is something powerful as they start their day in prayer and share a meal. A short devotional follows breakfast with time for discussion. What better way for men to share the struggles and joys in their daily lives while encouraging their Christian brothers with prayers and support.

Come and join us on August 29th at 9:30 AM for prayer, fellowship, and a meal as only men can prepare.
