Luke 2:11
For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. it the beautifully wrapped gifts under the tree, stockings hung with care, cards in the mail, lights that sparkle and shine on a tree, wreaths hung on the front door, parties and family gatherings, or is it much more?

Christmas should be about celebrating the birth of the Christ child. God sent His Son, Jesus, into the world to be born. The prophets had told of His coming hundreds of years before. Jesus was born so that one day He would pay the price for our sins. Jesus came into the world to tell people about God's love for them and to give them hope and eternal life. Jesus came so He could die on the cross for ALL of our sins.

Christmas is a celebration, a time to gather together to sing about God's love, praise God, and give thanks to God for giving us the greatest gift we could ever receive...His own son, Jesus Christ. As we look at the lights on the Christmas tree, may it remind us that Jesus is the light of the world, and let's share God's love with everyone around us.

During the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, the women at Beacon Bible Church set aside the first Saturday in the month of December to attend the Ladies' Christmas Tea. This is a special time for the ladies and their guests. It's the opportunity to bring Christ's love to the heart of each woman and provide the women with time to gather together for fellowship and fun.

This year the Christmas Tea will be held on December 5th at 10:00 AM in the Fellowship Hall. Please save the date and invite a friend.

If you enjoy the great outdoors and want to improve your marksmanship or even just to get a little exercise, join the Beacon Bible Church gang on Saturday, December 12th.

Participants will be meeting in the Denny's parking lot on I -17 and Deer Valley Road before 7:00 AM. The group will be leaving Denny's at 7:00 AM and driving out to Table Mesa Road where they will join those who have been busy setting up targets and securing a safe place for the morning activities. Safety and fun intermix in this exciting outing that is popular with young and old alike. Join us and enjoy the beauty of the desert while learning something about gun safety and target shooting.

December is a special month! Each of us celebrate Christmas in many diverse ways with many family traditions that have been passed on from one generation to the next. It is easy to be overwhelmed by the Christmas trees, lights, exchanging gifts, parties, and family gatherings that are the usual for this time of year. At times these things and activities seem to overshadow the most important reason for celebrating - the birth of Jesus Christ our Savior, God's greatest gift to us.

As part of the celebration of the season, the congregation (visitors, family, friends, and members of Beacon Bible Church) will gather together on December 20th for a Christmas potluck dinner. Being able to enjoy the company of dear friends and reach out to visitors in an atmosphere of fellowship make this gathering very special. This social event in no way minimized the real reason we gather together. It celebrates the joy we feel at this blessed time of the year!

The Christmas potluck dinner will be held in the Fellowship Hall after the morning worship service. If you plan to attend we ask that you bring a main dish and dessert or a main dish and a side dish such as salad, vegetables, or beans.
